Position: Geotechnical Engineer (Hydropower Design & Construction)
Location: Kathmandu with site visits as per requirement of projects

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct/supervise geotechnical investigations, field surveys, and site inspections for hydropower projects.
  • Interpret geological and geotechnical data (borehole logs, core samples, lab test reports, etc.) and prepare geotechnical reports.
  • Design and analyze slope stability, foundation systems, underground structures (tunnels, caverns), and support systems.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of relevent professional experience, or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in geotechnical design and construction of hydropower projects.
  • Strong knowledge of geotechnical design software such as Phase, PLAXIS, GEO5, Rocscience suite, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in slope stability analysis, tunneling design, support system design, and foundation treatment.
  • Familiarity with international and national codes/standards for geotechnical design.
  • Excellent report writing and technical communication skills.
  • Sound knowledge of autocad, Civil 3D & design drawings.

Position: Structural Design Engineer (Hydraulic Structures – Hydropower & Infrastructure)
Location: Kathmandu with site visits as per requirement of projects
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out structural analysis and design of hydraulic structures for hydropower and infrastructure projects, including dams, spillways, intakes, desilting basins, powerhouses, surge shafts, forebays, and other associated structures.

  • Perform design of reinforced concrete and mass concrete structures in accordance with American Concrete Institute (ACI) Codes and Indian Standards (IS).

  • Analyze structural loads including hydrostatic and hydrodynamic forces, uplift pressure, seismic loads, earth pressure, temperature effects, and construction loads.

  • Develop structural models and design calculations using appropriate structural analysis software.

  • Prepare and review structural drawings, reinforcement detailing, bar bending schedules, and technical specifications in coordination with the design team.

  • Coordinate with hydraulic, geotechnical, and electromechanical engineers to ensure integrated and optimized design solutions.

  • Provide structural design inputs for constructability, durability, and safety of hydraulic structures.

  • Provide technical support during construction, including site visits, review of shop drawings, design clarifications, and resolution of site-related structural issues.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience, or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in structural design of hydraulic structures for hydropower and infrastructure projects.

  • Strong working knowledge of ACI 318, ACI 350, ACI 207 and relevant Indian Standards such as IS 456, IS 3370, IS 1893, IS 13920, and related codes.

  • Proven experience in structural analysis and design of reinforced concrete and mass concrete hydraulic structures.

  • Proficiency in structural design and analysis software such as STAAD, ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, MIDAS, or equivalent.

  • Excellent technical report writing, design documentation, and communication skills.

  • Sound knowledge of AutoCAD and preparation of structural design drawings and detailing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out design and drafting of civil structures for hydropower projects, including diversion structures, underground structures, powerhouses, and associated works.

  • Prepare and develop civil design drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant design tools.

  • Coordinate closely with Senior Design Engineers to ensure consistency and quality of designs.

  • Prepare technical reports, design notes, and supporting documentation for hydropower projects.

  • Perform quality control and review of design drawings and technical reports.

  • Prepare various project-related reports, including periodic progress reports.

  • Provide technical input and support related to site conditions and hydropower structures as required.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience, or

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Geotechnical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in hydropower projects.

  • Sound knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and preparation of civil design drawings.

  • Working knowledge of HEC-RAS and other relevant hydraulic or modeling software.

  • Practical understanding of site-related aspects of hydropower structures.

  • Strong understanding of basic civil and hydraulic engineering principles.

Position: Draft Person (Hydropower Design & Construction)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, update, and finalize engineering drawings for hydropower projects (design and construction phases).
  • Draft civil, structural, mechanical, and electro-mechanical layouts under the guidance of engineers.
  • Develop detailed drawings of hydropower components including dams, intakes, tunnels, penstocks, powerhouse, and transmission structures.
  • Ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with engineering standards in all drawings.
  • Coordinate with engineers, survey teams, and site staff to incorporate field data and revisions.
  • Maintain drawing records, revisions, and related documentation systematically.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent (Drafting specialization preferred).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in drafting/design for hydropower projects (design and/or construction phase).
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD (2D/3D) and drafting standards; familiarity with Civil 3D/Revit is an added advantage.
  • Experience in preparing reinforcement detailing, construction drawings, and shop drawings.
  • Ability to interpret engineering calculations, sketches, and specifications.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
