  • Proven experience as a mechanical inspector, with a focus on penstock systems other mechanical components in hydropower projects.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards, including ASME, AWS, and other applicable regulations.
  • Excellent knowledge of NDT methods (e.g., UT, PT, MT) is preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong analytical mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a project team

Job Description
  • Inspection and Testing:
    • Conduct thorough inspections of penstock and other HM components, including materials, welding, and mechanical systems.
    • Verify appropriate tools and techniques are used to perform non-destructive testing (NDT) to assess the integrity of penstock materials and welds.
    • Verify that the penstock components meet design and quality standards.
  • Compliance and Documentation:
    • Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and safety regulations (e.g., ASME, AWS, OSHA) throughout the project.
    • Maintain detailed inspection records and documentation, including test reports, inspection findings, and corrective action recommendations.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Collaborate with project teams to identify and address any quality issues, non-conformities, or deviations from project plans.
    • Work closely with engineering and construction teams to resolve mechanical issues promptly.
  • Safety:
    • Promote and enforce a culture of safety within the project site by identifying and addressing potential safety hazards.
    • Participate in safety meetings and support the implementation of safety protocols.
  • Communication:
    • Provide regular progress updates to project managers and stakeholders regarding inspection findings and recommendations.
    • Prepare detailed reports on inspection results and communicate any necessary corrective actions.
